Filling the albums

I was lucky enough back in November to escape to the windy shores of Eastbourne for a weekend full of fancy dress, wine, 3 course meals and lots of scrapbooking and paper talk. Its nice to escape.and have time to focus on just getting our stories down. Finding time to scrapbook at home isn't always easy ( as I type a stack of albums and paper for my Christmas crafting is mocking me) But I managed lots of pages and lots of stories are now in the albums. My 2014 album is almost finished now - the 2015 is pretty empty but I have a plan to review my photos from the year and do some forward planning of what stories I want to tell. Heres just some of the layouts I got done. My stash is not the newest by far - I usally only buy maybe once or twice a year and stock up on bits.

1// Bright colours are a common theme in my albums and this first one uses lots. Not much journalling on this one but I love these photos grouped together. Its a little tradition I have at each time M gets a new belt I take a photo against the wall outside. I add the text using the Beautiful Mess app on my phone.

2// This one goes at the begining of the album. Couple of my fave family shots from the year , and a selfie I particular like. Plus some journalling of the key highlights/memories of my year. I used squares of pattern paper to make up a grid in the back to replciate the design on the Elles Studio card

3// These photos are not fantastic but I wanted to record that in 2014 my hubby rekindled a passion and found a love of cycling. In 2014 he did his first cycle down to Brighton. I used strips of paper to make up the background - picking some specific bicycle paper for exactly this reason.

4// Harry Potter Studios - I had lots of photos from this day. I did a 12x12 with majority of the journalling and a few key photos and then added in an insert with extra photos and some cards. I used a start punch and sequins across the insert and the page to bring it all together.

5// Easter Sunday and we visited a farm so had lots of little photos from the day. I made a collage with 4 photos and then matted another photo of the boys together. The butterfly paper is October Afternoon and I have had for ages so was pleased to use it.

6// This layout I did from start to finish in under 45 minutes!! Using up some very old letters out of my stash (Cosmo Cricket I do believe) plus I borrowed a fantastic cloud punch and mixed in with sequins.

7// Using a combo of orange and blue to write about M starting his KungFu jounry. Hes come so far since getting this first belt - this page I raided my scraps to make the chevrons.

8// This paper is one of my recent buys and I love it. The dark brown mixed with the pinks and blue matches well with my little bunny in the photo.

9// A couple of tresured photos of some dear friends who live too far away. Even older stash getting a airing here in the form of sassfalass blooms.

There we have it lots of stories in the album. My 2014 album is nearly "done" which is happy thing. Horrah for memory keeping. Any questions on any of the layouts just get in touch!

Happy crafting.
