{Mojo Boosting}

I love pinterest.

Yes, you can get lost in there for hours. Yes, at times it makes me have unrealistic ideas about what my life should be like. Yes, I do pin more things than I could ever in my entire life do/see/create/cook etc. But it definitely fuels my love of the visual imagery, blog surfing and generally looking at pretty things.

I currently have 40 boards (with 2554 pins!) ranging from Kid Stuff, Wedding Ideas, Party Boards, Cooking, Baked Goods, Cupcakes, Crafting, Photos, Yarn and obviously scrapbooking.

I Love pinning layouts that catch my eye, and then looking/browsing over my board. Looking for things to springboard ideas, layouts to scraplift or identifying trend/looks/colours I want to try.

This week I booked off work (mainly due to M turning 2 at the weekend and I knew my weekend would be very busy, and I could do with a few days off to regroup!) and yesterday while the boy was at nursery I scrapbooked (and washed the kitchen floor, did two loads of washing, prepared dinner etc!) When I sat down to 'make a mess' as K often refers to my scrapping process, I first looked to my pinterest board for ideas or sparks that I could use for my own layouts....

And here is what I created.

 The idea behind this layout is totally taken from this awesome layout by Jill Sprout. I loved the tags and the negative cutting out  - but I decided to attempt to use my mists. I am not overly confident in using them. But I love the look. I felt a bit more comfortable using them in small area that I stuck to my page - so that if they went really wrong not such a big deal! The photo was taken on a night out to celebrate K birthday. We had so much fun, our friends showed so much love and we danced, laughed and enjoyed ourselves.
 With this layout, I decided to look through my pins and see if there was any look/style I wanted to try. I saw I had pinned this , this and this - which all had a similar strips of paper, the shaped ends -with that in mind, I ended up with this.Adding a little bling and embellishment clusters.

 I adore Amy Tan's style. Like srsly I wish I could layer paper like her! (and her projectlife is rocking!) I am not good at the whole paper layering thing (unlike my friend Laura who excels at this) I took a depth breath and tried very hard to replicate this look  - using this layout of Amy's as my base. Overall I like the look and will try this more contained look again.

 Its not often I will look at a layout and feel proud that I have created something to go in my album. This is a rare occasion. And when I finished this layout - that's exactly how I felt. Proud. I love the colours, the photos, the embellishments. This was inspired by this fab layout by Lisa Stidwell and this layout by Shimelle.

And finally... another one for the wedding album. I collected my Studio Calico kit this week and quickly cut into the papers. I stacked strips of paper and then when a little made with adding stickers, gems and butterflies. I took some inspiration from this colourful layout.

Phew.

That;s a lot of mojo (and adhesive!) put to use here.

Have a fabby weekend! (my week 6 projectlife will be up soon too!)

Happy crafting
